CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN

Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

1. 

Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.

2. 

Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC operation).

3. 

Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

4. 

Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on [A].

5. 

Start the engine and wait 15 minutes or more [B].

6. 

Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes [C].

7. 

Read the Pending DTCs.

HINT:

If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.

If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.

Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All readiness.

Input the DTC: P0441.

10. 

Check the DTC judgment result.

NOTICE:

Do not perform the Evaporative System Check when the fuel tank is more than 90% full because the

cut-off valve may be closed, making the fuel tank leak check unavailable.

Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.

Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC operation).

13. 

Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

14. 

Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on [D].

15. 

Enter the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Evaporative System Check / Automatic

Mode.

16. 

After the Evaporative System Check is completed, check for All Readiness by entering the following menus:

Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.

17. 

Input the DTC: P0441.

18. 

Check the DTC judgment result [E].

DESCRIPTION

HINT:

This DTC P0443 is applicable to Mexico models only.

To reduce hydrocarbon emissions, evaporated fuel from the fuel tank is routed through a charcoal canister to

the intake manifold for combustion in the cylinders.

The ECM changes the duty signals to the Purge VSV (Vacuum Switching Valve for Purge Control) so that the
