(a) Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel delivery

pipe sub-assembly RH (for Quick Type A)

(b) Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel delivery

pipe sub-assembly LH (for Quick Type A) 

 

.

7. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the clamp.

(b) Disconnect the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly LH (for Quick Type

B) 

 

.

8. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Disconnect the No. 6 wire harness connector.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly RH.

NOTICE:

When removing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly RH, hold the

pipe by both ends and pull it straight upward.

(c) Remove the 2 delivery pipe spacers and 4 insulators from the cylinder head sub-assembly RH.

9. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the No. 7 wire harness connector.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly LH.

NOTICE:

When removing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly LH, hold the

pipe by both ends and pull it straight upward.

(c) Remove the 2 delivery pipe spacers and 4 insulators from the cylinder head sub-assembly LH.

10. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the fuel injector assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly, and then disconnect the

injector connector.

 

NOTICE:

For reinstallation, attach a tag or label to the injector shaft.

(b) Remove the O-ring from the fuel injector assembly.

(c) Detach the 3 clamps and then remove the No. 6 wire harness

from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly RH.

(d) Detach the 3 clamps and then remove the No. 7 wire harness

from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly LH.

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table

below.

Standard Resistance:

TESTER CONNECTION

CONDITION

SPECIFIED CONDITION

1 - 2

20°C (68°F)

11.6 to 12.4 Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the injector assembly.

(b) Inspect the injection volume.

CAUTION:

(1) Remove the fuel pipe clamp.

(2) Disconnect the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly (for Quick Type B) 

 

.

(3) Connect SST to the fuel pipe (the vehicle side).
