Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check interme-

diate connectors D-24 and C-59, and repair if 
necessary.

<Tweeter (LH)> Check the wire harness between E-

24 tweeter (LH) connector terminal No.1, 2 and 
C-125 radio and CD player connector terminal 
No.13, 5.

NOTE: 

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check interme-

diate connector C-133, C-16 and C-15, and repair 
if necessary.

<Tweeter (RH)> Check the wire harness between E-

25 tweeter (RH) connector terminal No.2, 1 and 
C-125 radio and CD player connector terminal 
No.6, 14.

NOTE: 

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check interme-

diate connector C-121, C-16 and C-15, and repair 
if necessary.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 6.

NO : 

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. Retest the system
Then check that the audio sound is output.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

The trouble can be an intermittent 

malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 

− How to 

Use Troubleshooting/inspection Service 
Points 

− How to Cope with Intermittent 

Malfunction ).

NO : 

Go to Step 7.

STEP 7. Replace the radio and CD player 
temporarily, and check the trouble symptom.
Replace the radio and CD player temporarily, and 
check that the sound is output from the speaker.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Replace the radio and CD player.

NO : 

Retest the diagnosis. Go to Step 1.

Inspection Procedure 3: No sound is heard from one of the speakers. <Vehicles with audio amplifier>

CAUTION

Before replacing the radio and CD player or 
audio amplifier, ensure that the power supply cir-
cuit, the earth circuit and the communication cir-
cuit are normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the sound is not heard from one of the speakers, 
the speaker, radio and CD player, audio amplifier, 
communication line from the radio and CD player to 
the audio amplifier, or communication line from the 
audio amplifier to the speaker may have a problem.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of speaker

• Malfunctions of radio and CD player

• Malfunction of audio amplifier

• Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Checking with speaker test
Perform the speaker test, and check which speaker 
does not output the sound. (Refer to 

P.54A-294

.)

NOTE: In the following procedure, check the 
speaker, tweeter or subwoofer that is abnormal.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

The trouble can be an intermittent 

malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00

NO : 

Go to Step 2.
