RADIO AND CD PLAYER

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 11.

NO : 

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 11. Check the wiring harness between C-
125 radio and CD player connector terminal No.1, 
2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and D-30 audio amplifier 
connector No.22, 21, 29, 28, 31, 30, 38, 37.

• Check the communication lines for short circuit.

NOTE: Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check 
intermediate connectors C-15 and C-59, and repair if 
necessary.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 12.

NO : 

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 12. Retest the system
 Check if the sound is output from all the speakers.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

The trouble can be an intermittent 

malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 

− How to 

use Troubleshooting/inspection Service 
Points 

− How to Cope with Intermittent 

Malfunction ).

NO : 

Go to Step 13.

STEP 13. Replace the audio amplifier temporarily, 
and check the trouble symptom.
Replace the audio amplifier temporarily, and check 
that the sound is output from all the speakers.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Replace the audio amplifier.

NO : 

Replace the radio and CD player.

Inspection Procedure 3: No sound is heard from one of the speaker. <Vehicles without audio 
amplifier>

CAUTION

Whenever the radio and CD player is replaced, 
ensure that the input signal circuit is normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
The cause is probably a faulty speaker circuit sys-
tem.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of speaker.

• Malfunction of tweeter.

• Damaged wiring harness or connector.

• Malfunction of radio and CD player.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Checking with audio speaker test
Perform the audio speaker test, and check which 
speaker does not output the sound. Refer to 

P.54A-

294

.

NOTE: In the following procedure, check the speaker 
or tweeter that is abnormal.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

The trouble can be an intermittent 

malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 

− How to 

Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service 
Points 

− How to Cope with Intermittent 

Malfunction ).

NO : 

Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Connector check: E-19 <front-LH>, E-11 
<front-RH>, E-22 <rear-LH> or E-09 <rear-RH> 
door speaker connector, E-24 <LH>, E-25 <RH> 
tweeter connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 3.

NO : 

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Check the speaker or tweeter.
(1) Remove the speaker or tweeter. Refer to 

P.54A-
