INTAKE MANIFOLD TUNING VALVE 

Removal & Installation (4.6L) 

Remove intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS. Remove intake 
manifold tuning valve from lower front of intake manifold. See Fig. 90 . To install, reverse removal procedure.

Removal & Installation (5.4L 4V) 

Intake manifold tuning valve is located on balance tube of intake manifold. See Fig. 91 . Disconnect harness 
connector, remove bolts and intake manifold tuning valve. To install, reverse removal procedure.

SUPERCHARGER BY-PASS SOLENOID 

Removal & Installation 

Supercharger by-pass solenoid is located on intake manifold. Disconnect vacuum lines (1) and harness 
connector (2). See Fig. 92 . Remove solenoid from bracket (3). To install, reverse removal procedure.

NOTE:

Numbers in parenthesis refer to numbers in illustration.

SUPERCHARGER BY-PASS SOLENOID ACTUATOR 

Removal & Installation 

Remove the two actuator bolts. See Fig. 93 . Align the actuator rod with the slot in the linkage and remove 
actuator. See Fig. 94 . To install, place the actuator adjustment tool onto the actuator, making sure that the tool 
is correctly attached to the actuator rod. See Fig. 95 . Rotate the actuator into position until the rod engages the 
lever. Align the actuator rod with the slot in the linkage to install actuator. Install the two actuator bolts. 
Remove the actuator adjustment tool. 

NOTE:

The actuator adjustment tool included with the replacement actuator kit must be 
used when installing the supercharger bypass valve actuator. Failure to 
correctly adjust the actuator will result in incorrect operation of the 
supercharger assembly.
