Ford F150 Pickup. Instruction - part 1304

Loosen the air inlet tube clamps. Disconnect the three vacuum lines, PCV closeout, IAB hose and supercharger 
vacuum actuator vacuum line and remove the air inlet tube. Disconnect the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor 
electrical connector (1). Remove the 4 screws (2) and remove the MAF sensor (3). To install, reverse the 
removal procedure.

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR 

Removal & Installation 

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove accelerator splash shield, if equipped. Disconnect the Throttle 
Position (TP) sensor electrical connector (1). See Fig. 82 . Remove the screws (2) and remove the TP sensor 
(3). To install, reverse removal procedure.

MOTORS, RELAYS & SOLENOIDS 

For component locations, see Fig. 54 . 

EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE 

Removal & Installation 

On Blackwood and F150, EVAP canister purge valve is located under body on left side. On Expedition and 
Navigator, EVAP canister purge valve is located in left rear of engine compartment. On all models, disconnect 
EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector and vacuum control hose. See Fig. 83 . Disconnect 2 fuel vapor 
tubes. Remove mounting bolts and remove EVAP canister purge valve. To install, reverse removal procedure. 
Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE under EMISSION SYSTEMS & SUB-
SYSTEMS.

EVAP CANISTER VENT SOLENOID 

Removal & Installation 

Remove the charcoal canister. See under EMISSION SYSTEMS & SUB-SYSTEMS. Using a twisting and 
pulling motion, remove EVAP canister vent solenoid from charcoal canister. See Fig. 84 or Fig. 85 . To install, 
reverse removal procedure. Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE under 
EMISSION SYSTEMS & SUB-SYSTEMS.
