6. Remove the snap-in-end fitting of the accelerator cable from the accelerator cable bracket. Remove the 

accelerator cable.

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.  

ACCELERATOR CABLE - 5.4L 

Removal and Installation 

1. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft.

2. Remove the three accelerator control splash shield bolts and the splash shield.

3. Remove the accelerator cable from the cable clip.
