2. Check the gap between the solenoid valve and the tank sealing surface in the center portion of each 

hexagonal flat with a feeler gauge. The gap must not exceed.05 mm (.002 in). The feeler gauge must be 
inserted to a depth of 1.6 to 3.1 mm (.06 to.12 in) to make sure the measurement is accurate. If the gap 
exceeds the allowable limit, remove the valve, inspect the sealing surfaces, replace and lubricate the seal 
and repeat the tightening and inspection procedure.  

3. Install the electrical connector retaining screws. 

1. Install the electrical connector.  

2. Install the electrical connector retaining screws.  

4. Install the fuel tank(s); refer to FUEL TANK - FORWARD IN-BED , FUEL TANK - MIDSHIP or 

FUEL TANK - REAR IN-BED .  

5. Perform the Fuel System Leak Test procedure; Refer to FUEL SYSTEM LEAK TEST .

Refer to TANK - MIDSHIP .

SPACER - MID-SHIP FUEL TANK MOUNTING 

Removal 

1. Remove the mid-ship fuel tank; refer to TANK - MIDSHIP .  

2. Remove the mid-ship fuel tank mounting spacer. 

1. Remove the retaining bolt.  

2. Remove the mid-ship fuel tank mounting spacer.

Installation 

1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

FILLER VALVE - FUEL 

Removal 

1. Perform the Pressure Relief - Fuel Line Venting procedure; Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

RELEASE .  

2. Remove the fuel filler valve retaining bolts.

3. Remove the fuel filler valve. 

1. Disconnect the high-pressure fuel line from the fuel filler valve.  

2. Remove the fuel filler valve.
