REAR CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

1. Lubricate sensor o-ring.

2. Install sensor.

3. Install mounting bolt and tighten to 9 N·m (79.5 in.

lbs.) torque.

4. Install heat shield onto mounting stud.

5. Install heat shield retaining nut and tighten.

6. Connect the electrical connector.

7. Connect negative battery cable.

COIL-IGNITION

DESCRIPTION

WARNING: The direct ignition system generates
approximately 40,000 volts. Personal injury could
result from contact with this system.

The ignition coil is mounted on the valve cover.

REMOVAL

The electronic ignition coil attaches directly to the
valve cover.

1. Remove the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect electrical connector from ignition coil.

3. Remove ignition coil mounting bolts.

4. Remove ignition coil.

INSTALLATION

1. Install ignition coil.

2. Tighten bolt to 8 N·m (71 ins. lbs.).

3. Connect electrical connectors and lock.

4. Install the negative battery cable.
