REMOVAL - RHD

1. Using Special Tool 9168 Ball Joint Puller (2)

remove the drag link from the pitman arm. (Refer

2. Measure the distance of point

between the pit-

man arm (2) and the steering gear (1) using a cal-
iper gauge.

3. Remove the snap ring that holds the pitman arm

(1) on the shaft (2).

4. Remove the pitman arm by loosening the pinch

bolt (1). With a prying device, remove the pitman
arm from the pitman arm shaft (2).

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. Remove any oil and grease from the splined sec-

tion of the pitman arm shaft and the pitman arm.

2. Install the pitman arm (1) to the pitman arm shaft

(2).

3. Install the snap ring (2).

4. Install the pitman arm to the previously measured

depth of measurement

. Tighten the pinch bolt

to 55 N·m (41 ft. lbs.).

INSTALLATION - RHD

1. Remove any oil and grease from the splined sec-

tion of the pitman arm shaft (2) and the pitman arm
(1).

2. Install the pitman arm (1) to the pitman arm shaft

(2).

3. Install the snap ring to the pitman arm shaft (2).
