FRONT FENDER REPLACEMENT - LEFT SIDE

Remove the endgate cable from the body side of the vehicle. Refer to Endgate Cable Replacement.

Pickup Box Endgate 
Tip: Use a partner to help support the pickup box endgate and hold at a forty-five degree 
angle while pulling to disengage from the body side endgate lower hinge.

Preliminary Procedures 

1. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (GMC HD) or Headlamp Replacement 

(Chevrolet) .  

2. Remove the front end sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal 

Brace Replacement.  

3. Remove the front fender rear upper brace. Refer to Front Fender Rear Upper Brace 

Replacement.  

4. Remove the auxiliary battery tray. Refer to Auxiliary Battery Tray Replacement (6.2L, and 

6.6L)  

5. Remove the left hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement.  

6. Remove the left hood link. Refer to Hood Link Replacement.

7. Remove the underhood electrical center/junction block. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or 

Junction Block Replacement .  

8. Remove the left wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side 

(Chevrolet) or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (GMC) .

Left Fender Mounting Bolts (Qty: 6) 

Tighten: 30 N.m (22 lb ft) 

 
Procedure:  
Apply threadlock compound to the bolts.

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .

Left Fender Mounting Nuts (Qty: 2) 

Tighten: 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

Left Fender 
Tip: Transfer any necessary additional parts as needed.

HOOD PRIMARY LATCH RELEASE CABLE HANDLE REPLACEMENT

Component Name

Preliminary Procedures 

1. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (GMC HD) or Headlamp Replacement 

(Chevrolet) .  

2. Remove the front fender rear upper brace. Refer to Front Fender Rear Upper Brace 

Replacement.  

3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .  

4. Remove the air cleaner box tray.  

5. Remove the coolant reservoir bottle from the right fender and set it aside. Do not open the cooling 

system. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (Non-HP2) .  

6. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .  

7. Remove the right hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement.  

8. Remove the right hood link. Refer to Hood Link Replacement.  

9. Remove the right wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side 

(GMC) or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Chevrolet) .

Right Fender Mounting Bolts (Qty: 6) 

Tighten: 30 N.m (22 lb ft) 

 
Procedure:  
Apply threadlock compound to the bolts.

Right Fender Assembly 
Tip: Transfer any necessary additional parts as needed.

Remove the body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement .

Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)
