SRS components are located in this area. Review the
SRS component locations (see page 24-14) and the
precautions and procedures (see page 24-16) before
performing repairs or service.

NOTE: Check the front seat belts for damage, and
replace them if necessary. Be careful not to damage
them during removal and installation.

1. Slide the front seat fully forward.

2. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the

audio system and the navigation system (if
equipped).

3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and

wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

4. Pull the lower anchor cover (A) back, and remove

the lower anchor bolt (B).

5. Remove these items:

• Front door sill trim (see page 20-60)
• Rear door sill trim (see page 20-60)

6. Remove the B-pillar lower trim (see page 20-65).

7. Remove the upper anchor cover (A), and remove

the upper anchor bolt (B).

8. Disconnect the seat belt tensioner 2P connector (A).

Remove the upper retractor mounting bolt (B), then
remove the front seat belt (C) and retractor (D).

9. If necessary, remove the front seat belt

protector (E).
