– With the help of a second mechanic, place rear spoiler -2- on

rear lid and align rear spoiler.

– Press left and right outer sides down onto rear lid -arrows- and

simultaneously pull off remaining protective foil of double-si‐

ded adhesive tape -3- on rear spoiler -2-.

– Press rear spoiler -2- on evenly along the entire length.

1 - Water deflector

Caution

Only remove and install

with  windscreen  re‐

moved  as  otherwise

windscreen  will  become

damaged.

3 - Pop rivet

❑ Qty. 5.
❑ Drill out pop rivets to re‐

move retaining strip.

❑ To install retaining strip,

install pop rivets using

rivet pliers (e.g. -VAS

5072- )

Carry out following work:
– Lever out water channel -1- from retaining strip, starting from

top -arrow-.

– Gently heat up adhesive tape of retaining strip on front wing

-2- using hot air gun -V.A.G 1416- and carefully pull off.

Installing

Fitting notes
♦ If a water channel is removed and installed, only use adhesive

remover -D 002 000 10- to remove any adhesive residue.

♦ Remove any existing adhesive residue of adhesive tape using

adhesive strip remover -VAS 6349- .

♦ Ensure that surfaces to be bonded are free of dust and grease.
♦ Bond water channel immediately after cleaning.
♦ Remove protective backing immediately before installation.
♦ Working temperature is approx. 21 °C.

– Check gap -a- over complete length of retaining strip -1- using

gauge -3371- .

• Distance -a- between -arrows-: 0.9…1.1 mm
