REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:

After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the

negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative
(-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected

3. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

for Column Shift Type: 

for Floor Shift Type: 

4. REMOVE CLEARANCE WARNING ECU WITH BRACKET

5. REMOVE 4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and 4 wheel drive control ECU.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to drop the 4 wheel drive control ECU.
Do not subject the 4 wheel drive control ECU to strong shocks.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL 4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU

(a) Connect the 2 connectors.

(b) Install the 4 wheel drive control ECU with the 2 bolts, and then

tighten them in the order shown in the illustration.

Torque:

8.0 N·m {82 kgf·cm, 71in·lbf}

NOTICE:

Be careful not to drop the 4 wheel drive control ECU.
Do not subject the 4 wheel drive control ECU to strong shocks.

2. INSTALL CLEARANCE WARNING ECU WITH BRACKET
