3. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

(b) Connect the hood lock control cable assembly.

(c) Install the hood lock assembly.

(d) Install the 2 bolts and hood lock bolt.

Torque:

8.0 N·m {82 kgf·cm, 71in·lbf}

(e) Install a new hood lock nut cap.

(f) w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch:

(1) Connect the connector.

(2) Attach the clamp.

REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Remove the hood support assembly LH while holding the hood.

NOTICE:

Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE HOOD SUPPORT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 stop rings as indicated by the

arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

CAUTION:

Remove the hood support assembly LH while holding the hood.

(b) Detach the 2 ball joints and then remove the hood support assembly LH.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 HOOD SUPPORT BOLT

INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Install the hood support assembly LH while holding the hood.

NOTICE:

Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. INSTALL NO. 1 HOOD SUPPORT BOLT

(a) Install the No. 1 hood support bolt.

Torque:

22 N·m {224 kgf·cm, 16ft·lbf}

CAUTION:

Install the No. 1 hood support bolt while supporting the hood by

hand.

2. INSTALL HOOD SUPPORT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the 2 stop rings to the hood support assembly LH.

(b) Attach the 2 ball joints to install the hood support assembly LH.

(c) Check that the hood support assembly LH is connected to the

ball joint and cannot be pulled off.

CAUTION:

Install the hood support assembly LH while holding the hood.

NOTICE:

Check that the hood support assembly LH is engaged in the ball

joint and it cannot be pulled out.
