(c) Remove the 2 bolts and fuel delivery pipe RH.

NOTICE:

When removing the delivery pipe, hold the pipe by both ends

and pull it straight upward.

(d) Remove the 2 delivery pipe spacers and 4 insulators from the cylinder head RH.

10. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the No. 7 wire harness connector.

(b) Remove the No. 1 engine cover.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and fuel delivery pipe LH.

NOTICE:

When removing the delivery pipe, hold the pipe by both ends

and pull it straight upward.

(d) Remove the 2 delivery pipe spacers and 4 insulators from the cylinder head LH.

11. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the fuel injector from the fuel delivery pipe, and then disconnect the injector connector.

 

NOTICE:

For reinstallation, attach a tag or label to the injector shaft.

(b) Remove the O-ring from the fuel injector.

(c) Detach the 3 clamps and then remove the No. 6 wire harness

from the delivery pipe RH.

(d) Detach the 3 clamps and then remove the No. 7 wire harness

from the delivery pipe LH.

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table

below.

Standard resistance:

If the result is not as specified, replace the injector assembly.

(b) Inspect the injection volume.

CAUTION:

(c) Remove the fuel pipe clamp.

(d) Disconnect the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly (for quick type B)

(e) Connect SST to the fuel pipe (the vehicle side).

(f) Install the O-ring to the fuel injector.

(g) Install SST and the tube to the fuel injector.

NOTICE:

As SST (tie band) does not completely prevent SST (clamp)
from becoming loose, do not subject the parts to any impacts
while using them.
Before using SST (tie band), make sure that there is no
deterioration, damage or cracks. If there are any
abnormalities, replace SST.

HINT:

When removing SST (tie band), disengage the lock.

(i) Check that SST (clamp) and SST (adapter) cannot be easily separated.

(j) Put the injector into a graduated cylinder.

CAUTION:

Install a strong rubber tube onto the injector to prevent gasoline from splashing.

NOTICE:

Make sure that SST (EFI inspection wire I) is securely connected.

Always turn the voltage on and off on the battery side, not the fuel pump side.

(k) Operate the fuel pump (turn the ignition switch to ON).

(l) Connect SST (wire) to the injector and the battery for 15

seconds, and measure the injection volume with the

graduated cylinder. Test each injector 2 or 3 times.

83 to 99 cm

Difference between each injector:

16 cm

If the injection volume is not as specified, replace the injector
