REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the fuel tank

2. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TUBE PROTECTOR

(a) Remove the nut and fuel tube protector.

3. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 3 fuel tank main tubes and remove the fuel

pressure switching valve.

(1) Detach the lock claws by lifting up the cover, as shown in

the illustration.

(2) Pinch and pull the fuel tank main tube connector to

disconnect the main tube connector from the pipe.

NOTICE:

Check for foreign matter in the pipe and around the
connector. Clean if necessary. Foreign matter may damage
the O-ring or cause leaks in the seal between the pipe and
connector.
Do not use any tools to separate the pipe and connector.
Do not forcefully bend or twist the nylon tube.
Check for foreign matter on the pipe seal surface. Clean if
necessary.
Put the pipe and connector ends in plastic bags to prevent
damage and foreign matter contamination.
If the pipe and connector are stuck together, pinch the
connector between your fingers and turn it carefully to
disconnect it.

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FUEL PRESSURE SWITCHING VALVE

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

TESTER CONNECTION

CONDITION

SPECIFIED CONDITION

1 - Body ground

Always

10 MΩ or higher

2 - Body ground

1 - 2

20°C (68°F)

5 to 10 Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the valve.

(b) Inspect the valve operation.

(1) Check that air flows from port A to ports B and C.

(2) Apply battery voltage across the terminals as shown in

the illustration.

NOTICE:

Keep the valve as far away from the battery as possible.
Always turn the voltage on and off on the battery side, not
the valve side.

(3) Check that air flows from port A to port C.

If the result is not as specified, replace the valve.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the 3 fuel tank main tubes and install the fuel

pressure switching valve.

HINT:

Push the parts together firmly until a "click" sound is heard.

NOTICE:

Before connecting the tube connectors to the pipes, check if
there is any damage or foreign matter in the connectors.

After the connection, check if the connectors and pipes are
securely connected by trying to pull them apart.

(b) Attach the lock claws to the connector by pushing down on the cover, as shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL NO. 1 FUEL TUBE PROTECTOR

(a) Install the No. 1 fuel tube protector with the nut.

Torque:

8.0 N·m {82 kgf·cm, 71in·lbf}

3. INSTALL FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the fuel tank
