INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR

(a) Install the 4 knock sensors with the 4 bolts so that the knock

sensors are angled as shown in the illustration.

Torque:

20 N·m {204 kgf·cm, 15ft·lbf}

NOTICE:

(b) Connect the 4 knock sensor connectors.

2. INSTALL SEPARATOR CASE

(a) Install the separator case with the 4 bolts.

Torque:

10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7ft·lbf}

3. CONNECT NO. 10 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

(a) Connect the No. 10 water by-pass hose to the separator

case, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

4. CONNECT NO. 9 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

(a) Connect the No. 9 water by-pass hose to the separator case,

and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK MASS AIR FLOW METER

(a) Check the mass air flow value.

(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(3) Turn the Techstream main switch on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / All Data / MAF.

(5) Blow air into the MAF meter, and check that the MAF

value fluctuates.

If the result is not as specified, check the MAF meter
