7. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE

(a) Remove the 2 No. 1 air injection system hoses from the 2 air pump assemblies.

8. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 2 wire harness clamps and

remove the 2 air pump assemblies from the air pump bracket.

(b) Disconnect the 6 air pump insulators.

1. INSPECT AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the heater resistance.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table

below.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the 6 air pump insulators to the 2 air pump assemblies and install the 2 air pump assemblies to

the air pump bracket.

(b) Attach the 2 wire harness clamps to the air pump bracket.

2. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE

(a) Install the 2 No. 1 air injection system hoses to the 2 air pump

assemblies.

HINT:

Insert the hoses until the hose ends contact the stoppers as

shown in the illustration.

3. INSTALL AIR PUMP INLET

(a) Connect the air pump inlet to the 2 No. 1 air injection system

hoses to install it, and then slide the 2 clamps onto the hoses.

HINT:

Insert the inlet until the inlet stoppers contact the No.1 air

injection system hoses as shown in the illustration.

(b) Install the 2 bolts.

Torque:

8.0 N·m {82 kgf·cm, 71in·lbf}

4. INSTALL AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

(a) Install the air pump assembly with bracket to the vehicle.

Stud Bolt

(1) Insert the bracket tab into the slot and insert the stud bolt

into the bracket hole as shown in illustration A. Then slide

the bracket.

(2) Insert the bracket tab into the slot shown in illustration B.

(3) Install the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

Torque:

for bolt -

18 N·m {184 kgf·cm, 13ft·lbf}

for nut -

12 N·m {122 kgf·cm, 9ft·lbf}

(b) Connect the 2 air pump connectors and attach the 3 wire

harness claws.
