REMOVAL

NOTICE:

Change the vehicle to 2WD mode before removing the transfer shift actuator assembly.

If the vehicle cannot be changed to 2WD mode, since the new transfer shift actuator assembly is set in the

(a) Disconnect the 3 connectors and detach the 2 clamps.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and transfer shift actuator assembly.

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(1) Connect the connectors to the vehicle side wire harnesses, operate the motor, and then measure the

resistance at each position.

shown in the illustration.

Toyota Genuine Seal Packing 1281, Three Bond 1281 or

equivalent
