Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Bumper fascia is made of resin. Never apply strong force to it, and be careful to prevent contact with

oil.
1. Remove rear combination lamps (RH/LH). Refer to 

EXL-140, "Removal and Installation"

.

2. Remove bumper fascia upper side fixing screws (A) (LH/RH).

3. Remove bumper fascia lower side fixing bolts and clips.
4. Remove bumper fascia side fixing screws (A) (LH/RH).

5. Apply protective tape on the part to protect it from damage.

: N·m (kg-m, ft-lb)

,  ,  ,  : Indicates that the part is connected at points with same symbol in actual vehicle.

REAR BUMPER

6. Pull bumper fascia side toward the vehicle side to disengage the

fitting of bumper side bracket and bumper fascia side as shown

by the arrow in the figure.

7. Disengage license lamp harness connectors.
8. Remove bumper fascia assembly.

CAUTION:

When removing bumper fascia, 2 workers are required so as to prevent it from dropping.

9. Remove the following parts after removing bumper fascia.

• License lamps (LH and RH). Refer to 

EXL-146, "Removal and Installation"

. 

• Bumper closings (LH and RH)

• Bumper side brackets (LH and RH)

• Reflectors (LH and RH) Refer to 

EXL-148, "Removal and Installation"

.

10. Remove bumper energy absorbers (LH and RH).
11. Remove bumper reinforcement mounting nuts, and then remove bumper reinforcement.

INSTALLATION

Note the following items, and then install in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE:

• The following table shows the specified values for checking normal installation status.

• Fitting adjustment cannot be performed.
