1. Disconnect CD auto changer connector.

1. Disconnect audio unit connector M95.
2. Perform self-diagnosis mode.

Symptom

Power sunroof cannot be operated
using any switch.

1. 10A fuse, 30A fusible link and

M4 circuit breaker

2. Sunroof switch ground circuit
3. Sunroof switch
4. Sunroof switch circuit
5. Sunroof motor

1. Check 10A fuse [No. 10, located in fuse block

(J/B)], 30A fusible link and M4 circuit breaker. Verify
battery positive voltage is present at terminal 5 of
power window relay. And then turn ignition switch
“ON” and verify battery positive voltage is present at
terminal 5 of sunroof switch assembly.

2. Check sunroof switch ground circuit.
3. Check sunroof switch.
4. Check harness between sunroof switch and sunroof

motor.

5. Check sunroof motor.

Power sunroof cannot be operated
using one of the sunroof switches.

1. Sunroof switch
2. Sunroof switch circuit

1. Check sunroof switch.
2. Check the harness between sunroof motor and sun-

roof switch.

System Description

Power is supplied at all times

I

from 30A fusible link (letter B, located in fuse and fusible link box)

I

to circuit breaker terminal 1

I

through circuit breaker terminal 2

I

to power window relay terminal 5.

With ignition switch in ON or START position, power is supplied

I

through 10A fuse [No. 10, located in the fuse block (J/B)]

I

to power window relay terminal 1

Ground is supplied to power window relay terminal 2

I

through body grounds M28 and M48.

The power window relay is energized and power is supplied

I

through power window relay terminal 3

I

to power window main switch terminal 1,

I

to power window sub-switch front passenger side terminal 5,

I

to power window sub-switch rear LH and RH terminals 5 (models with rear power window).

MANUAL OPERATION

Front Door (Driver Side)

to power window main switch terminal 3

through body grounds B24, B30 or D89 (LHD models).

WINDOW UP
When the driver’s window switch in the power window main switch is pressed in the up position, power is
supplied

I

through power window main switch terminal 9

I

to driver side power window regulator terminal 2.

Ground is supplied

I

through power window main switch terminal 1

I

to driver side power window regulator terminal 8.

Then, the motor raises the window until the switch is released.
WINDOW DOWN
When the driver’s window switch in the power window main switch is pressed in the down position, power is
supplied

I

through power window main switch terminal 8

I

to driver side power window regulator terminal 1.

Ground is supplied

I

to driver side power window regulator terminal 2

I

through power window main switch terminal 9.

Then, the motor lowers the window until the switch is released.

Front Door (Passenger Side)

NOTE:
Numbers in parentheses are terminal numbers, when power window switch is pressed in the UP and DOWN
positions respectively.
