DTC DETECTION LOGIC

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

1.

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch OFF and wait at
least 1 minute before conducting the next test.

>> GO TO 2.

2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

1.

Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 1 second.

2.

Check DTC.

Is DTC detected?

YES

>> Proceed to 

ECK-280, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

NO

>> INSPECTION END

1.

CHECK SENSOR POWER SUPPLY

1.

Turn ignition switch ON.

2.

Check the voltage between ECM harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-41, "Intermittent Incident"

.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Check harness for short to power and short to ground, between the following terminals.

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

3.

CHECK COMPONENTS

Check the following.
• Accelerator pedal position sensor (sensor 2). Proceed to 

ECK-365, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

• DPF pressure sensor. Proceed to 

ECK-295, "Component Inspection (DPF Differential Pressure Sensor)"

.

• Exhaust electric throttle control actuator. Proceed to 

ECK-297, "Component Inspection (Exhaust Throttle

Control Motor)"

.

• Exhaust gas pressure sensor. Proceed to 

ECK-244, "Component Inspection (Exhaust Gas Pressure Sen-

sor)"

.

• Refrigerant pressure sensor. Proceed to 

ECK-257, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-41, "Intermittent Incident"

.

NO

>> Replace malfunctioning component.

CHECK ECM RELAY POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

1.

Turn ignition switch ON.

2.

Check ECM relay circuit for open and short.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Perform trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit.

2.

CHECK ECM RELAY CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Check the continuity between ECM harness connector and ground ECM relay harness connector.
