Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Bumper fascia is made of resin. Do not apply strong force to it, and be careful to prevent contact with
oil.

1.

Fully open back door assembly.

2.

Remove rear bumper fixing screws.

3.

Remove rear bumper lower fixing screw (A) and clip (B) (LH/
RH).

4.

Remove rear bumper lower clips.

5.

Remove rear fillet molding (LH/RH). Refer to 

EXT-37, "Removal and Installation"

.

6.

Remove rear fender protector fixing clips (LH/RH).

7.

Remove rear bumper upper fixing screw (A) (LH/RH).

8.

Remove rear combination lamp. Refer to 

EXL-174, "Removal and Installation"

 (Vehicle with xenon type),

EXL-330, "Removal and Installation"

 (Vehicle with halogen type).

9.

Push forwards and then pull to release rear bumper from side
bracket B Refer to 

EXT-22, "Exploded View"

.

Rear tow hook

Rear bumper harness (if equipped)

Energy absorber

7.

Rear bumper stay assembly (LH/RH) 8.

Rear bumper side bracket assembly 
(LH/RH)

10. Release rear bumper clips (A).

11. Disconnect all harness connectors.
12. Remove rear bumper fascia assembly.

CAUTION:

When removing bumper fascia, 2 workers are required so as to prevent it from dropping.

13. Remove the following parts after removing rear bumper fascia.

• Rear bumper energy absorber
• Rear bumper side retainer (LH/RH)
• Rear bumper clips
• Rear bumper side bracket A (LH/RH)
• Reflector assembly (LH/RH)
• Rear bumper stays
• Tow Hook Cover

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Apply protection tape around outer circumference of front grille (bumper fascia side).

Fully open hood assembly.

Remove front grille upper fixing clips.
