STEP 10. Connectors check: C-104 intermediate 
connector, C-16 J/C (1), C-140 engine-A/T-ECU 
connector

Check for the contact with terminals.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 11.

NO : 

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 11. Check the harness between stop lamp 
switch connector C-101 terminal No.1 and 
engine-A/T-ECU connector C-140 terminal No.39.

Check the output line for short or open circuit.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 9.

NO : 

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 12. Connector check: C-116 intermediate 
connector

Check for the contact with terminals.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 13.

NO : 

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 13. Check the harness between stop lamp 
switch connector C-101 terminal No.2 and 
battery.

Check the power supply line for short or open circuit.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 9.

NO : 

Repair the wiring harness.

The inhibitor switch detects the selector lever 
position (P, R, N or D) which the driver has selected, 
and sends the information to the engine-A/T-ECU.
