TROUBLESHOOTING

The central door locking is controlled by the Smart Wiring System (SWS). For troubleshooting, refer to
GROUP 54B –  Troubleshooting.

DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION

INPUT SIGNAL CHECK POINTS <VEHICLES WITH ETACS-ECU>

1.

Connect the MUT-

 or a voltmeter to the diagnosis connector to check input signal. (Refer to GROUP

00  –  How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points.)

2.

The following input signals can be checked:
Door lock actuator

D

LOCK

D

UNLOCK

NOTE
If all the input signals cannot be check by using the MUT-

II

, the diagnosis circuit may be defective.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE FOR TROUBLE SYMPTOMS

Inspection Procedure 1

None of power window switches can operate any of
windows.

Probable cause

Power window relay, power window relay drive circuit or ETACS-ECU may be defective.

Malfunction of power window relay

Malfunction of ETACS-ECU

D

Malfunction of junction block

D

Malfunction of wiring harness or connector

OK

Check trouble symptoms.

NG

Check the harness wire between fusible
link No.4 and junction block.

OK

Check trouble symptoms.

NG

Replace the junction block.

OK

Replace the ETACS-ECU.

OK

Check continuity at power window relay
connector C-71 and junction block con-
nector C-74.

Disconnect the connector and
measure at harness side.

D

Continuity between terminal 4 of
C-71 and terminal 1 of C-74
OK: Continuity

NG

Check the following connectors:
C-71, C-74

NG

Repair

OK

Measure at ETACS-ECHO connector
C-82.

Disconnect the connector and
measure at harness side.

Voltage between 8 and body earth
OK: System voltage

NG

Check the following connectors:
C-71, C-72, C-82

NG

Repair

Check power window relay continuity.

Replace

Check trouble symptoms.

Replace the junction block.
