Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

For additional information, refer to: 

Lifting

 (100-02 Jacking and Lifting,

Description and Operation).

2. Loosen the rear muffler exhaust clamp nut.

3. Remove the muffler inlet pipe to diesel particulate filter retaining nuts.

4. Remove the muffler inlet pipe.

Detach the muffler inlet pipe support isolators.

Remove and discard the gasket.

Installation

1. NOTE: Check the exhaust support isolators for damage or fatigue.
Install new exhaust support isolators if required.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Tighten to 46 Nm.

Install a new gasket.

2. Tighten to 55 Nm.
