PINPOINT TEST H : CHECK THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT TEST CONDITIONS DETAILS/RESULTS/ACTIONS H1: CHECK THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH Disconnect the brake light switch electrical connector, PA03. Is the voltage less than 10 volts? REPAIR the circuit between the brake light switch and battery. This circuit includes the central junction box (fuse 90), No GO to H2 . H2: CHECK THE CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND THE ABS/DSC MODULE FOR HIGH RESISTANCE Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Is the resistance greater than 5 ohms? REPAIR the high resistance circuit. This circuit includes the central junction box. For additional information, refer to No GO to H3 . H3: CHECK THE CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND THE ABS/DSC MODULE FOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO BATTERY Measure the voltage between PA03, pin 03 (NR) and GROUND. Is the voltage greater than 3 volts? REPAIR the short circuit. This circuit includes the central junction box. For additional information, refer to the wiring No GO to H4 . H4: CHECK THE FUNCTION OF THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH Connect an ohmmeter across pins 01 and 03 of the brake light switch. Does the resistance switch between open and closed circuit as the pedal is operated? Please check part is not on any form of prior authorisation before replacement. No INSTALL a new brake light switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
