Windsor Engine (5.4L)  

2. Position the flexplate and install the bolts. 

Tighten the bolts in two stages:  

Stage 1: Loosely install the bolts.  

Stage 2: Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.

3. Install the transmission. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC 

TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION-4R100 or AUTOMATIC 
TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION-4R70W .  

FLYWHEEL - MANUAL TRANSMISSION 

Removal 

All Vehicles  

1. Remove the clutch. For additional information, refer to CLUTCH - F150 PICKUP . 

Romeo Engine (4.6L)  

2. Remove the flywheel bolts.
