Ford F150 Pickup. Instruction - part 913

All Vehicles  

1. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces and install a new O-ring seal.  

2. Install the oil pump and loosely install the bolts. 

Position the oil pump.  

Loosely install the bolts.  

Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.

4X4 Vehicles  

NOTE:

Lubricate the new O-ring seal with clean engine oil.

CAUTION: Make sure the O-ring is in place and not damaged. A 

missing or damaged O-ring can cause foam in the 
lubrication system, low oil pressure and severe engine

3. Install the oil pump screen and pickup tube bolts. 

All Vehicles  

4. Install the timing chains. For additional information, refer to TIMING DRIVE 

COMPONENTS - ROMEO ENGINE (4.6L) or TIMING DRIVE COMPONENTS - 
WINDSOR ENGINE (5.4L) . 

5. Install the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN - 4X2, 4.6L or OIL PAN 

damage.

NOTE:

Install a new O-ring and lubricate with clean engine oil.

CAUTION: The oil pump must be primed prior to starting the engine.

Removal 

All Vehicles  

1. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN - 4x2, 4.6L ,OIL PAN 

- 4x2, 5.4L or OIL PAN - 4x4 . 

4X4 Vehicles  

2. Remove the three bolts and the oil pump screen and pickup tube. 

NOTE:

On 4x2 vehicles, the oil pump screen and pickup tube is 
removed with the oil pan.

Installation 

4X4 Vehicles  

1. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces and install a new O-ring seal.  

2. Position the oil pump screen and pickup tube and install the bolts.

Lubricate the new O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
