7. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE 

SYSTEMS - GENERAL INFORMATION .  

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure. 

Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts in the sequence shown.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD LH 

Removal 

All Vehicles  

1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING & 

HOISTING .  

2. On 4x4 vehicles, remove the front wheel opening molding. For additional information, refer 

to FRONT END BODY PANELS - F150 PICKUP .  

3. Remove the front fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to FRONT END 

BODY PANELS - F150 PICKUP .

Romeo Engine (4.6L)  

4. Remove the nut and the brake booster vacuum hose and bracket.

5. Remove the exhaust manifold to Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve tube. 

Disconnect the differential pressure feedback EGR system electrical connector and 
remove the system.  

Disconnect the upper and lower exhaust manifold to EGR valve tube fittings.
