BRAKE PEDAL MOTOR CABLE 

Removal & Installation 

1. Disconnect the brake pedal motor harness connector.  

2. Remove the brake pedal motor bolts.  

3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.  

FRONT BRAKE CALIPER & PADS

CAUTION: When removing the front disc brake caliper, never allow it to hang from

1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove front wheels.  

2. Inspect the pads for wear or contamination. See Fig. 51 .  

3. Remove the front brake hose bolt, if necessary. Disconnect the front brake hose. See Fig. 52 . Remove 

and discard the copper washers. Plug the front brake hose.  

4. Remove the disc brake caliper bolts. See Fig. 53 . Lift the disc brake caliper off the front disc brake 

caliper anchor plate.  

5. Inspect the disc brake caliper for leaks. See Fig. 54 . If leaks are found, disassembly is required. See 

CALIPER under OVERHAUL.  

6. Remove the pads. Remove the disc brake anti-rattle clips. See Fig. 55 .  

7. Measure the brake disc thickness. See Fig. 55 . Install a new brake disc if not within specification or 

resurface on-vehicle as necessary.  

8. To install, install the disc brake caliper. Install the disc brake caliper bolts.  

9. Install the front brake hose. Use new copper washers; connect the front brake hose. Install the front brake 

hose bolt.  

10. Bleed the disc brake caliper or system as necessary. See CALIPER under COMPONENT BLEEDING or 

BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .  

11. Install the wheel and tire assembly. Lower vehicle. Check the brake system operation.

NOTE:

If caliper does not require service, it is not necessary to remove brake hose 
from caliper unless indicated.
