1. Remove clutch assembly; refer to CLUTCH - F150 PICKUP . 

NOTE:

Use emery cloth to remove minor imperfections in the clutch disc lining 
surface.

2. Inspect clutch disc for: 

z

Oil or grease saturation.  

z

Worn or loose rivets at the hub.  

z

Broken springs.  

z

Wear or rust on splines.  

Replace the clutch disc if any of these conditions are present. 

3. Use a slide caliper to measure the depth to the rivet heads. 

z

Replace the clutch disc if not within specification.
