ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES (BLACKWOOD)

Inflation & Deflation Of Air Suspension System

Turn the air suspension switch on. The air suspension switch and bracket is mounted in the right side kick
panel. Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC) and follow the directions. Select Air Suspension
Module under Active Command Mode. VENT REAR to deflate the rear down. LIFT REAR to inflate the rear
up.

Initialize System - Clear B2140 DTC

1. Turn the ignition key OFF and turn it back to RUN. Exit the vehicle, close all doors and allow the system

to vent the vehicle down to kneel height (approximately 30 seconds). Connect the scan tool to the Data
Link Connector (DLC) and follow the directions. Select Air Suspension Module.

2. Select the "Save Calibration Values (Store Ride Height)" scan tool command to calibrate the air

suspension module. Trigger through the warning message(s) and save "initialization" (trigger from OFF
to ON).

Rear Ride Height Mechanical Resetting

1. Turn the ignition key ON. Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC) and follow the

directions. Select Air Suspension Module.

2. Measure vehicle rear height (driver side) from the bottom of the jounce bumper metal housing to the

jounce pad on the rear axle. See Fig. 8 .

3. Using scan tool, adjust rear height to 3.6" (92 mm) by moving the rear of the vehicle down using the rear

vent active command or by moving the rear of the vehicle up rear lift in rear height sensor PID.

4. Loosen the ball stud nut on the rear air suspension height sensor-to-axle bracket and adjust it by moving it

with the air suspension height sensor up or down until the voltage is 2.74-2.78 volt. See Fig. 13 . Tighten
the ball stud nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Rear Ride Height Electronic Resetting

WARNING:

Do not remove an air spring under any circumstances when there is
pressure in the air spring. Do not remove any components supporting an
air spring without either exhausting the air or providing support for the air
spring to prevent vehicle damage or personal injury. Disconnecting an air
line that is connected to the air compressor can cause personal injury or
damage to components as high pressure air is vented uncontrolled.

NOTE:

Do not save rear ride heights. The air suspension module has
precalibrated values already stored. Refer to Rear Ride Height Mechanical
Resetting.

1. Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC) and follow the directions. Select Air Suspension

Module. Select the active commands menu "Save Calibration (Store Ride Height)." Trigger through the
warning message. Monitor the rear height sensor PID.

2. Select REAR. Disconnect the rear height sensor link from the lower bracket ball stud. See Fig. 13 .

Slowly raise and lower the height sensor arm until the sensor voltage is 2.74-2.78 volts.

3. Press the trigger to save ride height settings (turn from OFF to ON); this will calibrate the air suspension

control module. Carry out the Rear Ride Height Mechanical Resetting. If the rear height mechanical
resetting has been performed, clear DTCs and run On-Demand Self-Test.

CAMBER & CASTER ADJUSTMENT

Blackwood & F150 Pickup (2WD)

1. If alignment plates have not been removed from upper control arms, remove upper control arm nuts and

plates. See Fig. 14 . Install washers and nuts. See Fig. 15 . If alignment plates have already been
removed, go to next step.

2. Loosen the nuts to a point where the upper suspension arm joints are snug. To increase caster, move the

front of the upper control arm outboard and move the rear of the upper control arm inboard. To increase
camber, move the upper control arm outboard equally. See Fig. 16 .

3. To decrease caster, move the front of the upper control arm inboard and move the rear of the upper

control arm outboard. To decrease camber, move the upper control arm inboard equally.

4. Set the caster and camber to specifications. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS .

5. If a caster increase of 1.2 degrees is required, move the front of the upper control arm outboard by 3

notches and move the rear of the upper control arm inboard by 3 notches. Tighten the nuts to
specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

NOTE:

A pry bar can be used between the upper control arm and the frame
pocket to aid in moving the arm.

NOTE:

Each increment of the notches on the frame pocket represents 0.4 degree.
