EGR VALVE & TUBE ASSEMBLY 

Removal & Installation (5.4L Navigator) 

Remove the upper intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS. 
Disconnect the EGR valve vacuum line. Remove the bolts from the EGR adapter. See Fig. 150 . Disconnect the 
differential pressure feedback (EGR) hoses and the EGR valve tube fittings. Remove the EGR valve and tube as 
an assembly. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

EGR VALVE TUBE 

Removal & Installation (4.2L) 

Disconnect the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFE) system electrical connector and the wiring harness 
pin-type retainer (1). See DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE FEEDBACK EGR SENSOR under SENSORS & 
SWITCHES. Remove the system vacuum hoses from the EGR tube (2). Remove the exhaust manifold-to-EGR 
valve tube. See Fig. 151 . To install, reverse the removal procedure.
