FUEL RAILS & INJECTORS 

Removal 

1. Release CNG fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Release fuel system 

pressure from gasoline system. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE under FUEL SYSTEMS 
in under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - BLACKWOOD, EXPEDITION, F150 PICKUP & 
NAVIGATOR - GASOLINE article. Disconnect negative battery cable.  

2. Disconnect the fuel tubes. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Disconnect the accelerator cable. 

Disconnect the speed control actuator cable. Remove the accelerator return spring. Remove the 
accelerator cable bracket bolts and position the bracket and cables aside. See Fig. 33 .  

3. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge valve hose. Remove the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve 

fresh air tube. Disconnect the IAC electrical connector. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) 
valve vacuum hose. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector and the EGR 
vacuum regulator solenoid electrical and vacuum connectors. See Fig. 34 . Disconnect the fuel pressure 
regulator electrical connector. See Fig. 35 .  

4. Disconnect the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFE) system electrical connector. Remove the

bolt, disconnect the brake booster vacuum tube and position the bracket and tube aside. See Fig. 36 
Remove the DPFE bracket nut. Position the crankcase ventilation tube aside. Disconnect the exhaust 
manifold-to-EGR valve tube fitting. See Fig. 37 . Disconnect the 2 differential pressure feedback EGR 
system hoses.  

5. Remove the bolt and the DPFE system bracket. See Fig. 38 . Disconnect the main vacuum harness from 

the throttle body adapter and position the harness aside. See Fig. 39 . Remove the 4 bolts and remove the 
throttle body adapter. See Fig. 40 . Discard the throttle body adapter gasket. Disconnect and remove the 
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose.  

6. Position the power steering reservoir aside. See Fig. 41 . Disconnect the CNG fuel pressure sensor 

electrical connector. Remove the CNG fuel regulator mounting bolts and remove the mounting plate. See 
Fig. 42 . Disconnect the CNG fuel line from CNG fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect the body ground. 
See Fig. 43 . The CNG fuel rail has non-magnetic spacer blocks behind the fuel rail. Make sure the spacer 
blocks are retained. Remove the CNG fuel rail as an assembly. See Fig. 44 . Remove the fuel injectors.
