3. Install the transmission cover.
4. Install the bolts (1 2) securing the bottom right side of the transmission to the engine.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
5. Install the transmission support crossmember. Refer to Transmission Support
Crossmember Replacement (2WD 2500 HD/3500) or Transmission Support

Crossmember Replacement (2WD 1500/2500) or Transmission Support
Crossmember Replacement (4WD 1500/2500) or Transmission Support
Crossmember Replacement (4WD 2500 HD/3500) .
6. Remove the transmission jack.
7. Install the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (4.3L) or Starter Motor
Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L) or Starter Motor Replacement (6.6L) .

8. Install the engine harness clips to the fuel feed/return line clips and transmission.

9. Connect the following engine harness electrical connectors:
VSS (1)
Backup lamp switch (3)
Oxygen sensor (4)

10. Connect the clutch actuator cylinder hose to the clutch master cylinder hose.
11. Push together the clutch hydraulic hose quick connect fittings, then pull back on the fittings
to verify engagement.
12. Check the clutch hydraulic hoses for kinks or twists.
13. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to One-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement or Two-
Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement .
14. Fill the transmission with fluid.
15. Install the shift lever assembly. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement.
16. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding .
REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS - OFF VEHICLE
TRANSMISSION DISASSEMBLE
IMPORTANT: DO NOT rely on an audible click or a visual verification on
the clutch hydraulic hose quick connect fitting connection.
