Dome Lamp Lens
Tip: Using a flat-bladed tool pry down on right side of lens to avoid damaging
tab.

Dome Lamp Housing
Tip: Disconnect electrical connector.

Preliminary Procedure
1. Remove the front bumper fascia trim cap. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Trim Cap
Replacement (GMC) .
2. Loosen only, do not remove, the lower outside hidden headlamp bolt (2).
3. Pull the lamp assembly slightly forward to access the electrical connection.
4. Disconnect the forward lamp harness main electrical connector from the headlamp
harness.

Headlamp Screws (Qty: 2)
Tighten: Tighten the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in)

Tighten: Tighten the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in)

Headlamp Housing Support
Tip: Depress the housing support tab with a flat-bladed tool downward in order
to release the headlamp assembly from the support.

Preliminary Procedure
1. Remove the upper radiator grille. Refer to Radiator Grille Replacement
(Chevrolet) or Radiator Grille Replacement (GMC) .
2. Behind the headlamp at the top of the front bumper access the lower inside hidden
headlamp bolt.
3. Loosen the bolt only, do not remove, the lower outside hidden headlamp bolt.

HEADLAMP BULB REPLACEMENT (GMC)

Tighten: Tighten the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in)

Tighten: Tighten the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in)

Headlamp Housing Support
Procedure
1. Apply masking tape to the front bumper end caps to protect the painted
surface.
2. For the right side lamp assembly only, disengage the upper retainer for the
radiator air baffle.
3. Release the headlamp from the support tab, rotate the lamp assembly
towards the center of the vehicle.
4. Disengage the headlamp electrical connector from the forward lamp
harness.
