ensured   that   the   ABS   system
may always shorten the braking
distance.   For   example,   in   the
sand   land   or   snow   ground,   the
braking   distance   of   the   vehicle
equipped   with   the   ABS   system
may   be   longer   than   that   of  the
vehicle without the ABS system.
Also,   using   the   ABS   system   is
difficult   to  eliminate  the   hazard
acquired due to the over-close to
the   vehicle   ahead,   wading,   too
quick  steering  or   poor   traffic
surface,   and   also   can’t   prevent
from the traffic accident resulted
due   to   the   carelessness   or
incorrect   drive.  Please  drive
carefully,   and   decelerate   your
vehicle when steering. 

ABS self-checking

After   the  vehicle   starts   up,   the   ABS
system   will   conduct   self-checking.
During this course, you can hear the
mechanical noises, which it is normal.

During   driving,   if   it   is
observed   that   the   ABS

warning lamp lights, it indicates
that   the   ABS  system   goes
wrong,   and   please   stop   your
vehicle   and   contact   the   Chery
Authorized Service Station.

Use the major principle
of ABS braking

1. Step on the brake pedal
by full force and keep it

2.   Turn   the   steering   wheel,

pass by round the obstruction,

and,   no   matter   how   fiercely

the   brake,   you   can   keep   the

steering control performance.

Hand brake

After   stopping,   you   shall   pull   up   the
handle of hand brake tightly to prevent
from   the   vehicle   gliding   due   to   the
lapse of attention.

Please take care to pull
up   the   hand   brake

before you leave your vehicle.

With the state of ignition switch turning
on,   the   braking   warning   lamp   lights

when the hand brake is applied.

To use the hand brake, please pull the
hand brake bar upwards.

To release the hand brake, slightly pull
the hand brake bar upwards, and then
press the release button on the handle
end and push it downwards.

The hand brake is applied on the rear
wheel. 

Pull   up   the   hand   brake   and,   at   the
same time, step on the brake pedal.
To do so, you can easily pull up the
hand brake.

Steering

To avoid damaging the power steering
system: 



The  time  of  turning  the   steering
wheel to its extreme (turn to the
left/right dead point) shall not be
more   than   several   seconds
during the engine operating.



The power steering fluid shall be
filled immediately when the power
steering   fluid   in   the   power
steering   fluid   reservoir   is   below
the MIN mark. Do not drive your
vehicle before filling. 

If   the   power   steering   system   goes
wrong or after the engine is turned off,
the   vehicle   will   lose  the  steering-
assisted power. However, you still can
turn   the   steering   wheel,   but   need   to
spend larger force.

If   the   vehicle   wanders   or   waggles

during   running,   please   check   the
following items:



Whether   the   tire   pressure   is
insufficient



Whether   the   wearing   of   tire   is
uniform



Whether the suspension parts are
loose or worn



Whether   the   steering   parts   are
loose or worn



Whether   the   tire   is   positioned
correctly



For the downhill with much larger

grade slope, to reach greater barking
effect,   please   use   the   manual   shift
mode before going downhill, and shift
to the lowest gear.

Wading

If it is indispensable to wade in water
under the driving way, you must drive
carefully   and  slowly,  especially  when
the water situation is not known. 

Do no drive ahead again
if   the   wheel   rims   are

immerged in water.

During wading, both the tractive force
and braking performance of a vehicle
may   reduce,   and   it   is   also   possible
that the engine is turned off.

If the water enters into the air intake of
engine,   it   will   make   the   engine
damaged   heavily.   If   wading   in   deep
water,   the   water   will   enter   into  the
transmission   via   the   air   vent   of   the

transmission to make the transmission
damaged.

After   wading,   you  must   firstly  drive
slowly and step slightly on the brake
several times to remove the water on
the brake. The water on the brake will
make   the   braking   performance
decrease.

Three-way   catalytic
converter 

The catalytic converter can you’re your
vehicle   reduce   the   exhaust  gas
pollution. 

Be   sure   to   use   the
unleaded   fuel.   The

leaded   fuel   can   make   the

catalytic   converter   and   Heat
Oxygen   sensor   damaged
permanently.   The   Chery
Company is not responsible for
any   damage   caused   due   to   the
use of leaded fuel. And this kind
of   damage   is   not   listed   in   the
warranty.  If you add  the  leaded
fuel   to   your   vehicle   carelessly,
please  immediately  contact   the
nearest   Chery   Authorized
Service Station.

The  vehicle   with   gasoline   engine   is
equipped with a narrow refill opening
which   is   suitable   for   the   compressor
gun nipple of unleaded gasoline pump
only. 

It   is   prohibited   to   pull
out   the   high-voltage
wires   of   the   ignition

coils   during   the   engine
operation.   Apply   the   method   of

stopping each cylinder by taking
out ignition plugs to check if the
engine   operates   normally   or
observe   the   flashover   of   the
ignition   plugs.   Otherwise,   the
catalytic   converter   may   be
damaged.

Caution:

If the engine operates at all times, the
three-way   catalytic   converter   will
become very hot. It is to be noted that
the  protective gloves shall be put on
so   as   to  avoid  scalding   during
maintenance.
