FOREWORD 

SQR 7160 series sedan utilizes the worldwide latest generation MK20-I/E model ABS (Anti-Block System). 

Among China’s similar class sedans, Chery sedan is the earliest one that utilizes MK20-I/E ABS system and the sole one 

in China who take ABS system as standard equipment. ABS system has following main characteristics: 

 

      * 4 channel composite structure in design; 

            * Small dimension and weight, highly competitive performance and price; 

      * Safety, reliable and easy to service; 

      * Has fault information storage function and self-diagnostic connector; 

* Non-symmetry redundancy operation mode. 

 

        ABS system on SQR7160 class sedan has EDB and ESBS features besides anti-blocking, and also can optionally 

install an EDS system. 

ABS system on Chery sedan was developed and worked out together with world famous brake system 

developmental institution, the OEM provider Continental Teves. Winter road and performance tests were carried out in 

Sweden Arvidsjaur Teves Winter Test Field and summer road and performance tests were carried out in China Xianfang 

Vehicle Test Feild. Test results indicate Chery ABS system brake efficiency, brake turning ability, brake stability and 

subjective appraisal hitting a very high index, multiple performances are much higher than compared vehicles (some 

other famous brand sedan of same class in China).   

        This manual covers ABS system applying precautions, fault diagnostic and service methods, ABS system removing 

& installing procedures, detailed scan tool-operating information, fault with and without code diagnostic chart, for the 

user’s convenience of accurate-quick checking, diagnosing and repairing.   

        Driver, vehicle & motor service mechanic and skilled worker, after-sale service staff and technical engineer can use 

this manual for job convenience. 

    Under any cases, data, chart and explanation information in this manual cannot be legally rested on for any
