WINDSCREEN WIPERS

DISMOUNTING
Dismount the electric motor off the windscreen wiper mechanism.
Dismount : the reductor and the rotor.
Unstuck the brushes A, B and E.
Remove the brushed.

REMOUNTING
Check the collector condition and its grooves.
Introduce the new brushes and check their free sliding in the supports. Stick then the brushes.
Mount : the rotor and the reductor
Adjust the rotor axial clearance, by means of the adjustment screw.
Mount the electric motor on the mechanism.

REPARATION OF THE WIPER ARM DRIVE AXLE

The operation is to be performed after dismounting the mechanism off the vehicle.

DISMOUNTING
Detach the  connecting  rods  (A) and (B) from axles.
Dismount the axles (1) off the mechanism support (2).
Depress the splinted bushing
Dismount the axle; recover the bushing and the rubber gasket.

REMOUNTING
Check the rubber gaskets condition.
Clean the parts, to be free of oxides.
Grease the parts with LiCaPb type II grease.
Remount : the rubber gasket on the axle, axle, rubber gasket, and the bushing.
Press the splinted bushing.
Mount the axles on the mechanism support.
Grease the joints with LiCaPb type II grease and couple the connecting rods (A) and (B) on axles.

THE WINDSCREEN WIPER IS WORKING

THE WASHER PUMP IS NOT WORKING

Place the pump plug (-) at the ground.

The pump is working. The ground wire
broken or not connected.

The pump is not working.

Perform a direct supply of the pump

.

The pump is not working;
replace the pump.

The pump is working.

Check if the connector exit is supplied
when acting the lever.

The contact exit is not voltage
supplied. Replace the connector.

The contact end is voltage supplied; the
pump supply wire is broken or not
connected.

THE WINDSCREEN WIPER IS NOT WORKING

THE PUMP IS WORKING

Connect the motor casing at the ground.

The motor is working .
Repair the ground.

The motor is not working.

Check if the supply wires of the motor are
voltage supplied at the contact exit.

+12V voltage existing at the contact exit; motor
is not working. Check if the motor is supplied

The wires are not supplied; replace the
connector.

The motor is supplied.
Replace the motor.

The motor is not supplied; motor
supplying wires broken or  not connected.

WINDSCREEN WIPER NOT WORKING AT HIGH SPEED; PUMP IS

WORKING

WINDSCREEN WIPER NOT WORKING AT LOW SPEED; IT DOES NOT

STOP AT FIX POINT; PUMP IS WORKING

Check the green wire supplying from the

wiring connector connected to the electric motor.

The wire is not voltage supplied; replace the
contact or fix the electric wiring  to the con-
nector.

The wire is voltage supplied

Check the electric motor supplying.

The engine is voltage supplied; replace the
motor.

The electric motor is not supplied; the supply
wire is broken. Fix it.

Check the gray wire supplying from the

wiring connector connected to the electric motor.

The wire is not voltage supplied; replace
the connector or fix the electric wiring to
the connector.

The wire is supplied.

Check the motor supplying.

The engine is voltage supplied; replace the
motor.

The motor is not supplied;
the supply wire is broken or is connected.

WINDSCREEN WIPER WORKING ON BOTH SPEEDS, BUT IT

DOES NOT STOP AT FIX POINT; PUMP IS WORKING

Check existence of +12 V at the white

wire from the wiper

Check presence of +12V at the
black wire on the return wiring

Fix the electric wiring

Replace the wiper electric
motor

Check the correct operation of the switch
and timer.

Correct operation. Check the electric
connections and fix it.

Both are damaged.
      Replace them.
