– Lightly sand inside of bumper cover -6- and clean thoroughly.
– Apply primer to bumper cover and bracket and allow to air for

10 minutes.

– Push bracket -8- onto centring pin -1- and through bumper

cover -6-.

– Push counterhold -4- on and gently tighten knurled nut -5-.
– Push clip -3- on and then place knurled nut -2- in position but

do not tighten it.

– All the brackets are prepared by this stage.

Note

The adhesive must not run into the angle.

– Remove all centring pins after minimum curing period, mini‐

mum curing period

2.3.4

Minimum curing period

Do not carry out any further work on bumper cover or brackets

until the minimum curing period of 30 minutes has expired.
In this time, the bumper cover must remain where it is and should

not be moved.

Depending on the vehicle model, minor differences may be encountered in the rear bumper cover.

2.5.1

Removing

94 ; Tail lamps; Removing and installing tail lights in side pan‐

– Loosen/release wheel housing liner in area of bumper cover

– Undo and remove bolts -5- in wheel housing on left and right.
– Remove bolts -3- and -4- from below.

Further dismantling requires the assistance of a second mechan‐

ic.
– Pull rear bumper cover -1- out of fasteners of guides on left

and right of side panel -arrows b-.

– Release fasteners -arrows a- on retaining brackets -2- on left

and right.

– With the aid of a second mechanic, pull rear bumper cover

-1- parallel -arrows c- off vehicle.

– Remove connectors of all installed electrical components.

Installing

Carry out following work:
– Connect connectors of all installed electrical components.
