32. INSTALL BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

(a) Apply butyl tape to the door panel, then install the 

new back door service hole cover as shown in the 
illustration.
HINT:

When installing the service hole cover, pull the 
links and connectors out through the service 
hole.

There should be no wrinkles or folds after 
attaching the service hole cover.

After attaching the service hole cover, check the 
quality of the seal.

33. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD

(a) Engage the 16 clips and install the back door trim 

board.

(b) Install the 2 screws.

34. INSTALL DOOR TRIM RETAINER CAP

(a) Engage the 2 claws and install the door trim retainer 

cap.

35. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM COVER RH

(a) Engage the 3 claws and back door trim cover.

36. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH

HINT:
Use the same procedure as described for the RH side.

37. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL CARRIER BRACKET SUB-

ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the spare wheel carrier bracket with the 2 

bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 48 N*m (489 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf)

38. INSTALL BACK DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING RH (See

39. INSTALL BACK DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING LH (See

40. INSTALL SPARE DISC WHEEL

Torque: 88 N*m (897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf)

41. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY 

TERMINAL
Torque: 3.9 N*m (40 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf)

REMOVAL

1.

REMOVE BACK DOOR SUPPORT
(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in 

protective tape, remove the 2 stop rings and back 
door support.
NOTICE:

Do not touch the rod of the back door support 
with gloves, to avoid fibers from adhering.

When foreign matter adheres to the rod, it 
prevents the rod from moving smoothly and 
reduces its holding power.

INSTALLATION

1.

INSTALL BACK DOOR SUPPORT
(a) Install the 2 stop rings onto the back door support.
(b) Install the back door support.

DISPOSAL

1.

DISPOSE OF BACK DOOR SUPPORT
(a) Horizontally fix the back door support in a vise with 

the piston-rod pulled out.

(b) Wearing protective glasses, using a metal saw 

gradually cut the shaded part between A and B, 
shown in the illustration, to gradually release the 
gas.
Specification

CAUTION:

Cover the area that is being cut with a shop 
rag or a piece of cloth because there is a 
possibility that metal shards may be 
dispersed by the gas.

The gas is colorless, odorless and harmless.
