23. INSTALL OIL FILTER BRACKET (w/ Oil Cooler) 

24. INSTALL NO. 1 OIL COOLER BRACKET (w/ Oil Cooler) 

25. INSTALL NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (w/ Oil Cooler)

(a) Connect the 4 hoses to the No. 2 water by-pass pipe, and slide the 4 clamps to secure the hoses.

(b) Install the No. 2 water by-pass pipe with the 3 bolts.

Torque:

10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7ft·lbf}

26. INSTALL OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY 

27. INSTALL OIL FILTER ELEMENT 

28. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7ft·lbf}

29. CONNECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the cooler compressor assembly with the 2 stud bolts.

Torque:

10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7ft·lbf}

(b) Install the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

Torque:

25 N·m {250 kgf·cm, 18ft·lbf}

NOTICE:

Tighten the bolts and nuts in the order shown in the illustration to install the cooler compressor

assembly.

30. CONNECT HEATER HOSE AND PIPE

(a) Connect the 3 hoses, and slide the 3 clamps to secure the hoses.

(b) Install the 2 bolts.

Torque:

18 N·m {184 kgf·cm, 13ft·lbf}

31. CONNECT AIR PUMP HOSE AND WIRE HARNESS

(a) Connect the No. 2 air hose and No. 3 air hose to the air tube sub-assembly, and slide the 2 clamps to

secure the hoses.

(b) Connect the 2 clamps and air pump wire harness.

32. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD

33. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE

(a) Engine Room RH Side:

(1) Connect the 7 clamps.

(2) Connect the throttle position sensor and throttle control motor connector.

(3) Connect the 2 air pump connectors.

(4) Install the ground wire RH with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

8.0 N·m {82 kgf·cm, 71in·lbf}

(5) Connect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(6) Connect the injector connector.

(7) Connect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(8) Connect the 2 camshaft timing oil control valve connectors.

(9) Connect the 2 clamps and power steering oil pressure

switch connector.

(10) for 4WD:

Connect the clamp and junction connector.

(b) Engine Room LH Side:

(1) Connect the cooler compressor connector.

(2) Connect the 3 clamps.

(3) Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.

(4) Connect the 2 camshaft timing oil control valve connectors.

(5) Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

(6) Connect the 5 clamps.

(7) Install the ground wire LH with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

8.0 N·m {82 kgf·cm, 71in·lbf}

(8) Connect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(9) Connect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(10) Connect the injector connector.

(11) Connect the 2 wire harness clamps.

(12) Connect the 4 air injection control driver connectors.

(13) Connect the 2 connectors and attach the 2 clamps to the engine room junction block.

(14) Install the engine room relay block cover.

39. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

40. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK 

41. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

42. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. REMOVE ACC CUT RELAY

(a) Remove the clip.

(b) Detach the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board RH.

(c) Remove the relay.

2. INSPECT ACC CUT RELAY

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table

below.

Standard resistance:

CONNECTION

When battery voltage is not

applied to terminals 1 and 2

Below 1 Ω

When battery voltage is

applied to terminals 1 and 2

10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.

3. INSTALL ACC CUT RELAY

(a) Install the relay.

(b) Attach the 2 clips to install the cowl side trim board RH.

(c) Install the clip.
