REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE COWL TOP OUTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the washer hose and detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

(b) Remove the 7 bolts and cowl top outer panel sub-assembly.

3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

No. 1 V-bank cover bracket, and remove the V-bank cover

sub-assembly.

6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the vacuum hose from the air cleaner hose

assembly.

(b) Slide the clamp and disconnect the ventilation hose from the air cleaner hose assembly.

(c) Loosen the 2 hose clamps.

(d) Remove the air cleaner hose assembly.

7. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the ventilation hose

8. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Remove the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.

(b) Remove the No. 3 engine cover.

(c) Disconnect the throttle body connector from the throttle body assembly.

(d) Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses

from the inlet water housing and front water by-pass joint.

(e) Slide the clamp and disconnect the ventilation hose from the

intake manifold.

(f) Disconnect the 2 vacuum switching valve connectors.

(g) Slide the clamp and disconnect the purge line hose from the purge VSV.

(h) Remove the 2 bolts to disconnect the No. 1 tube.

(i) Slide the clamp and disconnect the union to connector tube hose from the No. 1 tube.

(j) Detach the 3 wire harness clamps from the 3 wire harness

clamp brackets.

(k) Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the

intake manifold.

(l) Remove the 2 nuts, 8 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.

9. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and ventilation hose assembly from the

intake manifold.

10. REMOVE NO. 1 V-BANK COVER BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 V-bank cover bracket.

11. REMOVE V-BANK COVER BOLT
