REPLACE STARTER RELAY (ST)

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ST RELAY - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION
SWITCH)

(a) Remove the starter relay (ST) from the engine room relay block 

 

.

(b) Disconnect the D35 park/neutral position switch.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

TESTER CONNECTION

CONDITION

SPECIFIED CONDITION

ST relay (1) - D35-5 (L)

Always

Below 1 Ω

ST relay (1) or D35-5 (L) - Body ground

Always

10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

CHECK STARTER RELAY (ST) (POWER SOURCE)

(a) Remove the starter relay (ST) from the engine room

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the

(a) Inspect the starter

CHECK IGNITION SWITCH (POWER SOURCE)

(a) Disconnect the J9 ignition switch connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the

table below.
