YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> Replace the air mix door motor.

Description

COMPONENT DESCRIPTION

• The mode door motor (1) is installed to the A/C unit assembly.
• Step motor system is adopted for the mode door motor.
• When a drive signal is input from auto amp. to door motor, a step

motor built into the door motor rotates according to the drive signal,
and then stops at the position of target door. 

DRIVE SYSTEM OF STEP MOTOR TYPE DOOR MOTOR

• Motor is actuated in sequence by energizing four drive coils.
• Rotation direction can be changed by changing pattern of excitation.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK FUSE

Check 10A fuse [No. 2, located in the fuse block (J/B)].
NOTE:
Refer to 

PG-77, "Fuse, Connector and Terminal Arrangement"

.

Is inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Replace fuse after repairing the applicable circuit.

2.

CHECK POWER SUPPLY OF MODE DOOR MOTOR

1.

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect the mode door motor connector.

3.

Turn the ignition switch ON.

4.

Check voltage between mode door motor harness connector and the ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair the harnesses or connectors.

3.

CHECK CONTINUITY BETWEEN A/C AUTO AMP. AND MODE DOOR MOTOR

1.

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect the A/C auto amp. connector.

3.

Check continuity between mode door motor harness connector and A/C auto amp. harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 4.

NO

>> Repair the harnesses or connectors.

4.

CHECK CONTINUITY BETWEEN A/C AUTO AMP. AND GROUND 

Check continuity between A/C auto amp. harness connector and the ground. 

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5. 

NO

>> Repair the harnesses or connectors.

5.

CHECK MODE DOOR MOTOR

Perform the component inspection of mode door motor. Refer to 

HAC-48, "Component Inspection"

.

Is inspection result normal?

YES

>> Replace the A/C auto amp.

NO

>> Replace the mode door motor.

CHECK MODE DOOR MOTOR

1.

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect the mode door motor connector.

3.

Check the resistance between mode door motor terminals. Refer to the applicable table for the normal
value.

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK CONTINUITY MODE DOOR MOTOR SUB HARNESS

Check the sub harness continuity with the following figure.
Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Replace the mode door motor.

NO

>> Repair the harnesses or connectors.
