• If two adjacent cylinders have respectively low compression pressure and their compression remains low

even after the addition of engine oil, the head gasket is leaking. In such a case, replace the cylinder head

gasket.

8. Install spark plug, ignition coil and harness connectors. Refer to 

EM-19, "Removal and Installation"

.

REMOVAL

1. Remove cowl top extension. Refer to 

EXT-25, "Removal and Installation"

.

2. Remove air cleaner filter. Refer to 

EM-18, "Removal and Installation"

.

3. Remove air duct assembly from air cleaner case (lower).
4. Remove air cleaner case (lower).
5. Disconnect harness connector from mass air flow sensor.
6. Remove air cleaner case (upper).
7. Remove mass air flow sensor from air cleaner case (upper) (if necessary).

CAUTION:

Handle the mass air flow sensor with care.

• Do not shock mass air flow sensor

• Do not disassemble mass air flow sensor

• Do not touch the internal sensor

8. Separate air cleaner case (lower) (2) from air cleaner case duct

(1) and air duct assembly (fore) (3).

• Pull to the direction of the arrow and detach lock (B).

• Detach the snap fits (C).

• Lift up to separate the air cleaner case duct (1) from the air

cleaner case (lower) (2) and the air duct assembly (fore) (3). 

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

• Align mating marks (C) of air duct assembly (B) with air cleaner

case (upper) (A) as shown.

tle control actuator (B) as shown.

Inspection

INSPECTION AFTER REMOVAL

Inspect air duct and resonator assembly for cracks or tears.

• If anything found, replace air duct and resonator assembly.
