< PRECAUTION >

PRECAUTIONS

• Heavily soiled clothing and oil-impregnated footwear should not be worn. Overalls must be cleaned regu-

larly.

• First aid treatment should be obtained immediately for open cuts and wounds.
• Use barrier creams, applying them before each work period, to help the removal of oil from the skin.
• Wash with soap and water to ensure all oil is removed (skin cleansers and nail brushes will help). Prepara-

tions containing lanolin replace the natural skin oils which have been removed.

• Do not use gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, gas oil, thinners or solvents for cleaning skin.
• If skin disorders develop, obtain medical advice without delay.
• Where practical, degrease components prior to handling.
• Where there is a risk of eye contact, eye protection should be worn, for example, chemical goggles or face

shields: in addition an eye wash facility should be provided.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PRECAUTIONS

Dispose of used oil and used oil filters through authorized waste disposal contractors to licensed waste dis-
posal sites, or to the waste oil reclamation trade. If in doubt, contact the local authority for advice on disposal
facilities.
It is illegal to pour used oil on to the ground, down sewers or drains, or into water sources.
The regulations concerning pollution vary between regions.

Air Conditioning

INFOID:0000000009161498

Use an approved refrigerant recovery unit any time the air conditioning system must be discharged. Refer to
HA section “REFRIGERATION” for specific instructions.

Service Notice or Precautions for Front Propeller Shaft (GT-R certified NISSAN dealer)

INFOID:0000000009161499

• Replace the propeller shaft assembly if there is a breakage or deflection on the tube.
• Never hit the tube or apply an impact on it during repair service. Never damage the tube as well.
• The joint cannot be disassembled. Never disassemble it.
• If a constant velocity universal joint is bent during removal, installation, or transportation of the propeller

shaft assembly, the joint may be damaged. Wrap a shop cloth or rubber sheet around the joint to protect it
from being damaged.

• The main propeller shaft is constantly rotating while the engine is running. To prevent interference, stop the

engine before removing or installing the propeller shaft assembly.

Service notice or Precautions for Main Propeller Shaft (GT-R certified NISSAN dealer)

INFOID:0000000009161500

• If the main propeller shaft is dropped, replace the main propeller shaft assembly.
• Never tap the tube. Avoid impacts and scratching.
• If there are cracks, peeling, or any other breakage on the seal

(yoke and tube joint) replace the main propeller shaft assembly.

• Check that there is clearance between the tube end and yoke

flange. If no clearance is found, replace the main propeller shaft.

• Replace the propeller shaft assembly if there are cracks or deflec-

tion on the tube.

• Protect the main propeller shaft tube from damage with a tube pro-

tector during repair service.

• Always stop the engine before removing or installing the main pro-

peller shaft assembly.

Fuel

INFOID:0000000009168333

Use unleaded premium gasoline with an octane rating of at least 93 AKI (Anti-Knock Index) number (Research
octane number 98) to maximize vehicle performance.

If the premium gasoline specified above is not available, unleaded premium gasoline with an octane rating of
at least 91 AKI number (Research octane number 96) can be used. In such case, engine performance may be
decrease.

Do not use gasoline with a lower octane rating lower than 91 AKI (Research octane number 96).

CAUTION:

• Using a fuel other than that specified could adversely affect the emission control system, and may

also affect warranty coverage.

• Under no circumstances should a leaded gasoline be used, because this will damage the three-way

catalyst.

• Do not use E-15 or E-85 fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle is not designed to run on E-15 or E-85 fuel.

Using E-15 or E-85 fuel in a vehicle not specifically designed for F-15 or E-85 fuel can adversely
affect the emission control devices and systems of the vehicle. Damage caused by such fuel is not
covered by the NISSAN new vehicle limited warranty.

• U.S. government regulations require ethanol dispensing pumps to be identified by a small, square,

orange and black label with the common abbreviation or the appropriate percentage for that region.

• NISSAN recommends using fuels that contain no alcohol. However, fuels containing up to 10% alco-

hol may be used, if necessary. To avoid serious engine damage due to increased cylinder tempera-
tures, do not use fuels that contain more alcohol than indicated in this section. Also, do not use fuel
additives, fuel stabilizers or fuel deicers that contain alcohol.
