BCM

INFOID:0000000010339508

• Tire pressure receiver is integrated in BCM (1).
• The tire pressure receiver receives the tire pressure and tire tem-

perature signal transmitted by the tire pressure sensor in each
wheel.

• The BCM (1) reads the tire pressure and tire temperature signal

received by tire pressure receiver, and controls the low tire pres-
sure warning lamp operations. It also has a judgment function to
detect a system malfunction.

Tire Pressure Sensor

INFOID:0000000010339509

The tire pressure sensor (1) integrated with the valve is installed in
each wheel (2), and transmits the detected tire pressure and tire
temperature signal in the form of the radio wave. The radio signal is
received by the BCM (tire pressure receiver).

SYSTEM

System Description

INFOID:0000000010339510

• During driving, the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) receives the signal transmitted from tire pres-

sure sensor installed in each wheel. The BCM of this system has pressure judgment and trouble diagnosis
functions. When the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) detects low inflation pressure or another
unusual symptom, the low tire pressure warning lamps in the combination meter comes on.

• Tire pressure varies as per the change in tire temperature. There-

fore, warning tire pressure value is varied as per the change in tire
temperature. TPMS temperature calibration is required for record-
ing basic temperature and tire pressure at the time of adjusting tire
pressure.

• If the tire pressure is less than the warning tire pressure value, the

low tire pressure warning lamp illuminates.

• Location of wheel is specified due to the synchronism of wheel sensor position and tire pressure sensor

position.

• Activates the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) when the vehicle speed is 40 km/h (25 MPH) or

more.
